What this course is not:

Many courses proclaim to teach you everything you need to know about resolving conflict. This is not a course that claims to teach you interpersonal communication skills needed to resolve conflict. There will however be additional courses that focus on teaching interpersonal communication, active listening, negotiation, and other leadership skills as future offerings.

My name is Nick Scalzo (sometimes my students refer to me as Dr. Nick.) I founded OnTrack, a training and consulting company that also provides executive coaching and organizational development solutions.

I have spent my career in Training, Organizational Development, Human Resources and Operations at organizations such as JP Morgan, Dime Savings Bank, Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation and SUNY Stonybrook. I earned my doctorate at The George Washington University's Executive Leadership Doctoral Program in Human Resource Development, specializing in Counseling and Human and Organizational Studies (CHAOS). 

My first book — Radical Organizational Change and Organizational Memory Systems — provides a blueprint for organizational leaders to follow to successfully implement change initiatives and preserve organizational knowledge.

I am also a co-author of, “Success Habits of Super Achievers” (2020), and “Resilience: Turning your Setback into a Comeback” (2018), both #1 Amazon Bestsellers. 

I currently teach in the graduate schools at Stony Brook University, University of Maryland, and George Washington University.

Dr. Nicholas J. Scalzo, the principal architect of OnTrack Training, completed his doctoral studies at The George Washington University's Executive Leadership Doctoral Program and earned his degree in Human Resource Development, specializing in Counseling and Human and Organizational Studies (CHAOS). He earned his MBA at New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) and his undergraduate degree at St. John's University.
Dr. Scalzo's dissertation research — Radical Organizational Change and Organizational Memory Systems — provides a blueprint for organizational leaders to follow to successfully implement change initiatives and has helped scholars and organizations understand how to preserve organizational memory and knowledge while navigating the seas of organizational change.
Dr. Scalzo is also an adjunct professor at Stony Brook University, University of Maryland, and George Washington University. He won Best Paper Award at the Conference on Corporate Communication in Wroxton, England in June 2005 and has published an article — Memory Loss? Corporate Knowledge and Radical Change (Journal of Business Strategy, Vol. 27, No. 4, 2006) — based on his research. His book Radical Organizational Change and Organizational Memory was published in 2009. He is currently writing a book on how organizations can retain the organizational memory when knowledge experts leave.
Dr. Scalzo is a co-author of, Success Habits of Super Achievers (2020), a #1 Amazon Bestseller. He also co-authored, Resilience: Turning your Setback into a Comeback (2018), a #1 Amazon Bestseller, published in December 2019.
Dr. Scalzo's previous work experience was with JP Morgan, Dime Savings Bank, National Securities Clearing Corporation, and Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation, where he had progressively increased responsibilities in Human Resources, Organizational Development, and Training.
Dr. Scalzo is a past president and chair of the Long Island chapter of the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) and is a certified SixSigma Greenbelt.
